The best tool is the one that matches your constraint

Afterburner is popular because it is broad: monitoring, tuning, and a pathway to RTSS overlays. But vendor utilities can expose OEM-specific features, and some users only need monitoring. This article compares scenarios instead of declaring a single winner.

Scenario A: monitoring-only

If you only want readouts, lightweight tools exist. Afterburner is still fine, but you may prefer something minimal if you never touch clocks.
